  8. Landmark retention - heritage and historical sites to be more strongly preserved
  9. Product Development - develop and promote different local district attractions, new convention center.
  10. Promoting Tourism Friendliness - tourism ambassadors, pedestrian scheme, etc
  11. Shopping - quality, variety, complaint monitoring
  12. Theme Parks - Disney and others, and supporting entertainment centers
  13. Evening Entertainment - develop new attractions for both tourists and locals

    Visitors and Hotels

  15. Hotel Performance - improving, but only 40% visitors stay in hotels (some rooms sold on monthly lease to locals)
  16. Visitor Arrivals - true impact of net tourism is only 8.9 million visitors not 13 million arrivals
  17. New Hotel Supply - good supply in the pipeline but need better forecast

    New Airport

  19. Open skies - encourage more new airlines, routes and frequencies to Hong Kong
  20. Hub Promotion - benefits some but limited benefits to other tourism segments; fleet expansion will ensure that genuine Hong Kong bound passengers will continue to have seats available when needed.

  22. Tourism legislation and consumer protection - to be brought up to date and regulatory measures introduced to bring them in line with international standards
  23. HKTA - leadership and industry support needed, greater transparency and more industry consultation, facelift for “bureaucratic” organization image
  24. China Market - visa procedures to be further simplified
