The Servicing Economy - Penta Forum 2002was organised
jointly by the Hong Kong Coalition of Service Industries
of the Hong Kong General Chamber of
Commerce, the Business and
Services Promotion Unit of the Commerce and Industry Bureau and the School of Business
of the Hong Kong University.

World Services Congress 2001
is a collective effort of the international services network to be held on 20 & 21
September 2001 in the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The host, "Hong
Kong Inc", is a partnership of the Hong Kong private and public sectors coordinated
by the Hong Kong General Chamber of
Commerce and the Hong Kong Coalition of Service Industries.

To prepare for the year 2000 negotiations, the Hong Kong Coalition of Service Industries has launched a major study entitled "Opportunities from Lieralisation of Trade in Services - The Private Sector's Interest". Deliverables includes Bi-monthly Newsletters to cover important subjects and report on progress of the project, Handbook for Business Opportunities and the "Wish List". Services 2000 - Regional Conference on Opportunities from Liberalisation of Trade in Services
The
HONG KONG AWARDS for SERVICES is designed to showcase the outstanding achievements of
the Hong Kong services sector by publicly recognising quality companies. Its aim is to
raise the standard of service industries in Hong Kong by heightening general awareness of
them and encouraging local companies and the community to put more emphasis on
service-related training. The Hong Kong Coalition of Service
Industries served as the Secretariat as well as one of the Leading Organisers for the
Innovation Award from 1997-1999.
Promotion of Management Consultancy Sector in Hong Kong
The Hong Kong Coalition of Service Industries commissioned the Poon Kam Kai Institute of Management of the University of Hong Kong to undertake a study of the current and future place of management consultancy in Hong Kong's competitiveness, together with an analysis of how the sector might be promoted. Following the recommendations from the report, the "Management Consultancies Association of Hong Kong' was formed.
